More Info for Samos

The price per person is €750.- between 18th and 25th May 2023 Meet & Paint Aquarelle Workshop in Samos Island, Greece

Check in date to the hotel is on 18th May 2023 Thursday earliest 13.00pm. That day is a free for the entire group. Check out date from the hotel is on 25th May 2023 Thursday at the latest time of 11.00am.

The price is per person for the double shared self catering studio and taxes. There will be 6 days plein-air and/or indoor workshops which will entire group will meet and paint.

As Princess Tia is a self catering Hotel; all studios has a kitchenette fully equipped where you can prepare your breakfast, snack, or even a small meal. A Bakery delivery everyday except Sundays at about 10:00-10:30 and delivery from the mini markets with a shopping list is possible. There is also availability to have a breakfast a nearby cafes and/or restaurants as well as lunch and dinner. Please note that most of the Samos beaches are pebbled. Therefore, it is convenient to bring a pair of beach shoes.

Ferry/Airport transfers, museums entrance fees, minibus rental for 5 days open air excursions and tips are not included to the price. For those who wish to stay single in a room the price will be €1.050,-. Please check the contact page for the definite reservation conditions.

Participants may arrive & depart on different flights & time therefore, they must pay their own transfer fees. Transfers costs between Samos Airport (SMI) €45.- each way. We will do our best to make up small groups according to the arrival and departure time of the participants so they can share the cost of the transfer.

To be more practical for the additional payments like airport transfers, minibus excursion fees, food, tips, entrance fees for museums; etc we will collect €200.- as an APA (Advanced Payment Allowance) from each participant on arrival. At the end of the workshop the balance will be calculated.

The participants can find direct charter or scheduled flights for Samos with different air companies almost from the main airports of the European countries. Flights also can be found to Samos via Athens. There is also a possibility to take a ferryboat from Kusadasi, Turkey to Samos Island almost everyday.

The meet and paint workshops are open to all levels from beginners to advanced participants. The medium is watercolor on paper and the languages are Russian, English and Turkish.

Supply List of Materials

Paper:

If you have some favorite brand of watercolor paper, by all means, use it. 100 % cotton 300g cold press medium grain or rough (Torchon) with sizes from 28 x 38 to 38 x 56 cm depending on your preference.

Brushes:

• Round brush (natural) squirrel, goat or mix No. 10-12, 6

• Round synthetic No. 10-12, 6

• Round brush with a long sharp bristle (liner) No. 4

• Flat flute for watercolors No. 30, 40, 60

If you have a favorite set of brushes, feel free to use them. Oriental calligraphy brushes are also welcome; goat, rat, etc.

Paints:

You can use any professional set of watercolor paints. Small travel kits are NOT recommended. You will need a basic set of colors or you can use your own pre-built palette. Do not forget to also bring masking tape, a tablet for fixing the paper to, a cup for water, a pencil, an eraser and an absorbent sponge. We do not supply easels so feel free to bring your own.
